We Provide Beautifully Straight Smiles

Woman wearing braces for orthodontics in San Jose

Teeth that line up properly not only look better, they also promote good oral and overall health. That’s because straight teeth are easier to brush and floss properly, and dental misalignments can put stress on your TMJ (jaw joints). It’s never too late to benefit from a well-aligned smile. Dr. Thanh provides full-service orthodontics for patients of all ages. Learn more about your options in braces, then schedule an appointment at our San Jose office.

Traditional Orthodontics

Traditional braces are metal brackets and wires that gradually reposition your teeth. They provide reliable results and are usually the most cost-effective method of straightening. Teens and adults love the fact that the metal brackets are customizable — younger patients can choose brackets in every color of the rainbow, while older patients usually opt for clear or silver bands.

The average treatment time for traditional orthodontics is 18 to 24 months, but each case depends on the severity of the misalignment. Good for gapped, crowded, unevenly spaced teeth as well as an overbite, underbite, and crossbite, conventional braces can be used to treat several orthodontic issues. After your braces are placed, you’ll see Dr. Thanh for regularly scheduled visits every six weeks to make sure everything is progressing as it should. You will be prescribed a retainer to keep your teeth in the proper place after your treatment is complete.

Invisalign Clear Aligners

Patients who are reluctant to wear visible metal braces can benefit from Invisalign, clear braces for adults and responsible older teens. Removable trays composed of smooth plastic gradually shift teeth into the proper position. Treatment times are often shorter with Invisalign compared to metal braces, and you can continue to eat what you please and brush and floss with ease thanks to the removable aligners. A clear retainer keeps your straight teeth in place after the treatment is complete.

ClearCorrect Clear Aligners

Braces with see-through brackets

ClearCorrect aligners look and function just like Invisalign, but the treatment is better suited for making smaller, cosmetically focused adjustments to the teeth. As such, it is typically more affordable than Invisalign while still offering the same level of reliability and comfort. It’s also ideal for patients who had braces when they were younger, but their teeth have shifted over time.

Six Month Smiles

If you simply need small adjustments to improve the cosmetic appeal of the smile, Six Month Smiles could be the answer. These options concentrate on quickly moving the teeth that show when you smile — improving the way the teeth look rather than overhauling the alignment of the bite. Even better, Six Month Smiles also uses tooth-colored brackets and wires to reposition the teeth, so patients can continue to smile with confidence.
